Get out your sketchbook and a pencil.
Look at the leaf on this slide.
Sketch the contour line of the leaf, or the outline.
Add details of the stem in the leaf.
Match the shading by using a range of value and a range of shading techniques.
Think about:
- The details of the veins and texture.
- How the value changes as it moves from the flat leaf to the ribs of the leaf.
